ESTRID

Estrid is a hand-painted collection created in watercolor and ink, inspired by medieval bestiaries and the decorative language of old Norwegian stave churches.

At its heart is a small gathering of animals — lion, sheep, deer and toad — surrounded by hand-drawn ornamental details. Each character carries the imperfect, expressive quality of historical imagery, where animals were not simply representations of nature, but also vessels for story, symbolism and imagination.

Estrid is a tribute to history, symbolism and the beauty human hands have created across centuries. For me, beauty has always been closely connected to the sacred — to what people are capable of creating when their work is shaped by devotion, meaning and love of God.

This makes Estrid a deeply personal collection. It reflects my own inner world and the way I understand and process it through drawing. Rather than reproducing historical ornament, I allow those old visual languages to meet my own instinctive line, watercolor, imagination and imperfections.

The collection brings together statement animal patterns with coordinating designs, creating a complete decorative story for wallpaper, textiles and interiors.
